Salon talk & Vlogs

Okay now that I have started and committed to this blog (somewhat) I have to keep it going...

This past weekend I started back in the salon, it's fun to be back in that environment. The shop is in Delray Beach, which is quite an awesome and chill area in South Florida. So the customers are pretty cool. I've only done cuts and blowouts at this point but I'm anxiously waiting for the first color client to walk in.

As I discussed in my last post I'm just getting back into hair after a two year hiatus, so I don't have a clientele at this point. Starting over from scratch is going to be interesting. Thankfully I worked on my friends love the last couple of years, so I haven't found it difficult to be back in the salon. My group of friends are a trendy bunch so I've kept up with the latest styles.

On another note I'm taking video footage to do weekly vlogs. I bought a camera last year with the intention of starting up a YouTube channel for hair and makeup tutorials. I did a few tutorials and got almost no views so I became discouraged and gave up. But I want to try it out again and just keep it going no matter what.

Till next week keep calm and caffeinate :)

New Beginnings and all that jazz

So... I haven't really had a chance to get involved in this blogging world yet. But I'm thinking it's about that time. I've taken steps in the last month to change my life and I'm going to start sharing my experiences and feelings in some sort of creative outlet.

Let me catch you up...

I'm by trade a Cosmetologist, self proclaimed makeup artist and lover of all things creative. I have been doing hair for almost 14 years with a few breaks in between. By far the last 2 years have been the largest break yet. I opened a salon named Salon Imagine approximately 3 years ago, needless to say it failed. I was heartbroken over this and couldn't bring myself to do hair full time anymore.

So in the last 2 years I have been working as a receptionist at an Auto Body Shop. Yes I know it's very different from what I'm trained and love to do, but that is what I felt I needed. Unfortunately the experience has been horrible in so many ways, mostly because I've been emotionally abused by the "management" and I've been missing doing what I love so much.

I decided to change everything and give my 2 weeks notice. This week will be my last in the Body Shop. I am starting at Haircuttery next Saturday. No it isn't a fancy Salon but I will be back doing what I love most, making people happy while doing what I love HAIR:)

I'm so excited and scared at the same damn time, but noting comes easy and I'm ready to work. Along with this change I will be working on myself. It's about time I shed these pounds I have piled on.

That is just a quick summary of what is most relevant in my world. If you interested in what is to come please stay tuned. I'm freakin excited about the future and all that is about to happen. Thanks for reading and heres to hoping you stick around :)
